Dear Friend,

We are just 1 week shy of 2021 #GivingTuesday, and I am definitely starting to feel the holiday spirit!

At the recent SHIFT Air Medical Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, the Foundation had the opportunity to honor our 2021 Patient of the Year, Thomas Keller. We thought you may be interested in Thomas' story, which showcases the critical need for the timely intervention of air medical flight teams, especially in rural areas.

Thomas and those who cared for him share their story.

Surgeon Dr. Kalyan Vunnamadala and his medical team team attributed Thomas’s amazing recovery to identifying the severity of Thomas’s injuries, the early activation of air transport, the quick response and treatment of cardiogenic shock by the air medical team, and the coordination with the receiving hospital.

“Thank God the air rescue team was close because he would not have made it even another 20 minutes. That crew gave him a chance at life.”

   - Dr. Vunnamadala

Let’s help take care of our own!  Emergency medical transportation is vital to all of us. So many pieces must come together for a successful outcome, and critical care providers navigate their daily professional lives in the most unpredictable and challenging environments. It is our hope that you will consider a #Giving Tuesday gift to the MedEvac Foundation this year so we can support the emergency medical transport providers that ensure patients like Thomas get the care they need.

Sincerely,

Megan Cohen
